I’ve always struggled to swim in a wetsuit. I have a hard time finding the same balance and feel for the water that I have in the pool, and that often meant my swim speed in training didn’t translate to the open water. However, earlier this season I partnered with @sailfish_us and that instantly changed. The performance of their suits speak for themselves with my 3 all-time personal best swims all coming in a Sailfish Wetsuit or Swimskin. Not to mention Sailfish Founder Jan Sibbersen’s all-time Kona WR swim. The Ultimate IPS Plus 3 is my weapon of choice. All the benefits of added buoyancy and drag reduction, without the restriction of mobility. Looking forward to continuing the swim PR streak this season and beyond.
2 photos. 6 years apart. Reverse roles. Same goal. This guy has always been there for me and Sunday was no exception.
Pre race reflection: “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” -RWE. We’ve all heard it. And the further along this journey I get the more I believe it. No matter how Sunday goes I know that I’ve truly enjoyed the process of preparation this summer. A lot of hours and miles and hard work, all for one day. I’m heathy, I’m fit, and I’m happy. To me it’s already a win. Sunday is a celebration of that.
